Safe Handling and Processing Guide

COPPER-BERYLLIUM ALLOYS (CLASS 3 AND 4) • REFERENCE OSHA STANDARD 1910.1024
AS-SUPPLIED CONDITION
Alcavil alloys are supplied in solid form. In this state, the material is completely safe for handling, transport, assembly and storage, and does not require special respiratory protection equipment under normal conditions.

*Mandatory HEPA extraction required.

MANDATORY WORKSHOP PROTOCOLS

WET MACHINING
Always use flood coolant to encapsulate chips and prevent fine particles from becoming airborne.

COMPRESSED AIR PROHIBITED
Never use compressed air to clean parts or machinery that has processed Copper-Beryllium. Use wet methods (damp cloth) or HEPA-filtered vacuums.

PERSONAL HYGIENE
Operators must wash their hands and face before eating, drinking or smoking after handling processed material.
